JSU’s Department of Art cordially invites you to two exhibitions and receptions featuring its graduating seniors. The BFA Senior Shows 2010will be in Hammond Hall Art Gallery at JSU, and for the first time, at Studio 9 on the Square in Jacksonville (next to Crow Drug). Opening receptions for both exhibits are from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 13, 2010. The exhibitions continue through Friday, May 1.

The Jacksonville State University Art Department announces the opening reception for the BA Senior Show 2010 on March 30 from 7-9 p.m. in the Hammond Hall Art Gallery.

The 2010 BA Senior Show runs March 30 – April 8 and will feature the work of the following graduating students:

* Amber Morgan – Printmaking
* Peggy Nichols – Photography
* Sam Cordle – Ceramics

The Jacksonville State University family lost one of its own on Thursday, February 11, when art faculty member Phil Kesler passed at his home after a long battle with cancer. [via JSU Office of Public Relations]

If you didn’t attend the reception for Brian Taylor’s “Translated Landscapes”, you missed some great paintings as well as an interesting discussion with the artist.

“Translated Landscapes” runs from Tuesday, Oct. 6 – Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009 in the Hammond Hall Gallery.

Brian Taylor is Art Department Chair and Associate Professor of Art at Shorter College.

Welcome. We have been trying for several years to get an Alumni Chapter for the Art Department at JSU (Jacksonville State University) started and staying active. Of course, this process requires participation. If you are interested in participating be it volunteering to help organize or just attending some of the activities we plan please get in touch with us via this site.
